Baltimore Improv Group Hits its $25K Fundraising Mark for Theater Renovations

The BIG Theater should be in tip-top shape very soon, thanks to a successful online fundraising campaign.

The Baltimore Improv Group, the city’s sole dedicated ad-lib comedy troupe, has exceeded its goal to raise $25,000 on Kickstarter to renovate its new space in Station North. The money will go toward building an entrance to Sofi’s Crepes next door, as well as new signage, technology upgrades, HVAC fixes, a liquor license, classroom space and more, according to an email from spokeswoman Kat Martineau.

An update on the Kickstarter page says one “generous backer” helped them get to where they wanted to be. One donor gave more than $2,000 for the campaign, and two gave more than $1,000.
