Northwest Hospital Earns Premier QUEST Award

10/5/17

Northwest Hospital has been recognized by Premier Inc., a leading health care improvement company, with a Citation of Merit for the 2017 QUEST Award for High-Value Healthcare for providing outstanding patient care.

Northwest Hospital received the Citation of Merit for achieving a top performance threshold in four of six focus areas, which include patient and family engagement, safety, and cost and efficiency.

“At Northwest Hospital, we are on a Quest to Be the Best, including being a leader in patient safety and quality. This achievement reflects the commitment of everyone on our team to provide our patients with the highest quality care,” says Brian White, executive vice president of LifeBridge Health responsible for Northwest and Sinai hospitals. “We’re so proud to be recognized with a Citation of Merit for the QUEST Award as we continue to push forward with our many efforts to improve patient care.”

Premier, which is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, launched the QUEST program in 2008 to help health care systems deliver the most efficient, effective and caring experience possible to every patient. Hospitals participating in the QUEST collaborative are setting new standards, openly reporting their progress on a common set of measures and identifying potential improvement areas. Together, QUEST participants have helped prevent nearly 200,000 deaths and reduce health care spending by more than $17 billion.

“QUEST hospitals have set high standards in clinical excellence nationwide,” says Madeleine Biondolillo, M.D., vice president of engagement and delivery for Premier Inc. “Premier congratulates Northwest Hospital for its fantastic achievements.”

Premier recognized the QUEST recipients at its annual Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition.  Members who submitted data for the period from October 2015 to September 2016 were eligible for QUEST awards.

Northwest Hospital is part of LifeBridge Health, one of the largest, most comprehensive providers of health-related services in Maryland. LifeBridge Health advocates preventive services, wellness and fitness services, and educational programs.
