Pessin Katz Law, P.A. (PK Law) is pleased to welcome Associate Jeffrey Wettengel to the firm. Jeffrey is an Associate in the Firm’s Medical Malpractice Defense Group where he focuses his practice on the defense of health care providers and health care institutions throughout the State of Maryland. Prior to becoming an Associate at PK Law, Jeffrey served as both a Summer Associate and a Law Clerk in the Firm’s Medical Malpractice Defense Group.
While a student at the University of Maryland School of Law, Jeffrey was Managing Editor of the Journal of Business & Technology Law and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Jeffrey also gained experience in alternative dispute resolution as a Rule 16 Attorney in the Mediation Clinic and as a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team. Upon graduation, Jeffrey was selected by the faculty as a recipient of the William T. Cunningham Award in recognition of his exceptional achievements and service to the law school. Jeffrey also received the Litigation and Advocacy Award in recognition of his success in both intra- and inter-school appellate competitions.
Prior to attending law school, Jeffrey worked in the Office of the Governor in Annapolis, MD as a legislative assistant. Jeffrey received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland, College Park.
PK Law’s Medical Malpractice Defense attorneys have extensive trial experience defending serious medical malpractice and personal injury claims in state and federal courts throughout the State of Maryland, in administrative hearings for disciplinary proceedings, and in appeals before the appellate courts.
In an effort to help clients avoid contentious and expensive litigation, PK Law’s Medical Malpractice Defense group also provides risk management advice to medical professionals, their practice groups, and health care facilities in the areas of credentialing and takes an active role in early resolution of matters where warranted.
