9/21/17

Are you an entrepreneur? Have you dreamed of starting your own company? Attend the University of Baltimore's Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation's Startup Maryland Day and pitch your best ideas for new businesses to some of the state's most successful business leaders.

Now in its sixth year, Startup Maryland's "Pitch Across Maryland" bus tour will stop at the University of Baltimore for a rally and business pitch session on Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 5:30-8 p.m. on Gordon Plaza, located at the corner of Maryland and West Mt. Royal avenues.

This year's event features networking opportunities, along with food, drinks, entertainment and more—something for everyone who wants to join Baltimore's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Open to the public, "Pitch Across Maryland" events include:

  • Pitch your new business ideas to a panel of judges.
  • Compete for a chance to win a Golden Ticket to the "STRT1UP Road Show" bus.
  • Meet and mingle with students, business owners and other like-minded people.

Startup Maryland is a regional initiative launched from the Startup America Partnership. This peer-driven movement, focused on high-growth ventures, strives to connect innovation communities and recognize the importance of founding entrepreneurs, as well as start-up, ramp-up and speed-up companies to Maryland's innovation economy. Startup Maryland rallies entrepreneurs, supporters and other innovation stakeholders around four main initiatives:

  • connection
  • celebration
  • coaching
  • capital
