HJF Names John W. Sigmon as Chief Human Resources Officer

BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF) announced today that it has named John W. Sigmon as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective Oct. 16. He will be a member of the organization’s Executive Team and report to President and CEO Joseph Caravalho, Jr., MD.

Sigmon joins HJF from AARP, where he rose from Senior Human Resources Business Partner to Vice President, Group Human Resources Consulting Services, and then to Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. In his most recent role, he was responsible for a human resources enterprise of more than 2,200 employees that spanned all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Before joining AARP, Sigmon worked in human resources at the U.S. Library of Congress, U.S. Federal Election Commission, Government Accountability Office, Department of Health and Human Services, and the National Naval Medical Center. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Western Illinois University and a Master of Public Health in Administration and Policy from the University of North Carolina.
