NAIOP Maryland members Taylor Fields, Vice President of Leasing for Knott Realty Group and Tyler Wright, Vice President, Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager for Howard Bank have been named to The Baltimore Business Journal’s “40 under 40” list, an annual compilation prepared by the local business newspaper. Fields and Wright were chosen from a group of more than 450 applicants nominated for the honor.

The list recognizes local business and professional leaders who have achieved success and excelled in their industry before the age of 40. The winners will be honored at an awards reception in November.

Fields received two major awards from the commercial real estate industry in 2012 including being honored as a “Rising Star” by NAIOP Maryland, as well as being selected as a National Developing Leader by NAIOP Corporate. He has worked in the real estate industry for more than fourteen years and chaired the Chapter’s Membership Committee for five years. Fields, who is currently a NAIOP Maryland Board Member, also co-chaired the Chapter’s Awards Committee several years ago.

“I am incredibly humbled and grateful for this unexpected recognition,” Fields explained. “Scanning the other names on the list made me feel very honored to be associated with these high-achievers. I realize how difficult it is to be among this group, which provides great encouragement to continue striving for professional excellence.”

Wright has worked for Howard Bank for the past seven years and has fourteen years of experience in the financial industry. He presently manages the largest real estate portfolio within the Bank, which is comprised of a number of local commercial real estate and residential real estate development companies. Wright is active in several real estate associations including NAIOP Maryland, Urban Land Institute and the Home Building Industry Association, as well as volunteering for the Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center.

“It is extremely inspirational to be included on this list and it serves as a sort of a validation for all the mentorship I have received throughout my career, as well as my personal investment,” Wright said. “I am not used to getting a lot of recognition, but this award provides the impetus to continue to work hard and grow my banking and real estate career.”

NAIOP Maryland has more than 380 members and is comprised of individuals working for real estate development companies, brokerage firms and affiliated companies such as financial institutions, architectural firms and engineers.

NAIOP is the nation’s leading trade association for developers, owners, investors and other professionals in industrial, office and mixed-use commercial real estate. Comprising 16,000 members in 55 chapters, it provides networking opportunities, educational programs, research on trends and innovations and strong legislative representation.
