Austin Hays Starts, But Orioles Lose Again In New York

While the Orioles lost for the eighth time in the past nine games, they offered their fans a glimpse of 2018 -- and perhaps beyond.

Center fielder Adam Jones had the night off because he was sore after playing three games on artificial turf in Toronto’s Rogers Centre, and rookie Austin Hays started in center instead.

Gabriel Ynoa got his second start of the month, and while the right-hander was charged with the 8-2 loss to the New York Yankees before 40,460 at Yankees Stadium on Sept. 15, he didn’t pitch poorly.
