The Ravens placed running back Danny Woodhead (hamstring) on injured reserve Sept. 14, putting him out of action until at least mid-November, and have promoted running back Jeremy Langford from the practice squad.
Langford, 25, started three games for the Chicago Bears last year, but he then missed four games with an ankle injury and lost his starting job to Jordan Howard. Langford finished last season with 62 carries for 200 yards and four touchdowns and caught 19 passes for 142 yards.
Langford, a fourth-round draft pick out of Michigan State in 2015, carried 148 times for 537 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie, and also had 22 catches for 279 yards that year.
