Gillis Gilkerson Starts Construction on the New Advanced Auto Parts store in Harrington, Delaware

9/5/17

Gillis Gilkerson, one of the most stable and trusted construction management and general contracting firms on Delmarva, announced it has been hired to build the new 6,778 square foot Advanced Auto Parts store at 1049 Midway Drive in Harrington, Delaware.

“We have an aggressive schedule for this project and plans are in place to deliver the new store to the customer in 90 days,” said Dwight Miller, president, Gillis Gilkerson. “A newer market to us, we look forward to creating a space for Advanced Auto Parts to grow and expand to serve the community and surrounding areas.”

The one story steel, masonry building will include a glass storefront with site improvements that will add a new entrance to the shopping center on Rt. 13 North. The structure’s footings are built and positioned, making way for foundation walls to be completed this week.

“After reviewing their credentials we thought Gillis Gilkerson was the right choice for this project,” said Doug Liberman, vice president, Larson Engineering Group Inc. “It has been a positive experience working with their team of builders and we look forward to seeing the new store come out of the ground soon.”

The Gillis Gilkerson team led by project manager Tyler Barnes and superintendent Darry Mitchell is scheduled to be completed by mid-November.
