Just ahead of the 4 p.m. deadline to get rosters down to 53 players, the Baltimore Ravens received a major boost Sept. 2.
The team announced that quarterback Joe Flacco returned to practice, eight days ahead of their regular season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. Flacco has not participated in practice at any point during Training Camp or the preseason after aggravating his back just before players reported to Owings Mills, leaving backup Ryan Mallett to handle all of the reps with the first team offense.
The Ravens had announced in August that the quarterback would miss the entirety of the preseason but would be ready to return for the regular season.
