Jeneanne Collins
Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Inc. (JA), a non-profit organization dedicated to educating young people to succeed in a rapidly changing economy, announced that Jeneanne Collins will be the Manager of Entrepreneurial Experiences for its partnership with Living Classrooms Foundation at the UA House at Fayette.
Collins will be stepping into this position with over 20 years of experience in youth development. For this partnership, she will be developing and implementing Junior Achievement exploration, learning and hands-on entrepreneurship programs that will serve over 500 Baltimore City K-12 students this school year.
“We are delighted to have Jeneanne on board as we embark on this new partnership with Living Classrooms Foundation,” said Kim Fabian, Senior Vice President of JA of Central Maryland. “Her expertise and passion for working with Baltimore City youth is an asset to our program and gives them a positive introduction to their future careers.”
Collins has already made great strides with the program after running the UA House summer camp, where she guided 30 students through entrepreneurial lessons. To celebrate the results of their training, the students managed a classic Baltimore snowball stand titled Snowball City, which successfully raised over $150.
Collins was selected for this role for her impressive background and involvement in the Baltimore community.
For 14 years, she was the Program Director for the Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Program, where she coordinated career placement for program participants. She recently worked as the Career Development Coordinator for Baltimore City Public Schools to conduct job readiness, leadership, professional development, policy, and financial literacy classes. Collins received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Community Development from Douglass College in 2001.
