Elizabeth Torphy-Donzella
Elizabeth Torphy-Donzella, Litigation Partner at Shawe Rosenthal LLP, has been reappointed General Counsel of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce. She is the first woman to serve in this position.
As General Counsel, Torphy-Donzella will serve on the Executive Committee of the Maryland Chamber. The Chamber is the leading voice for business in Maryland. Through its advocacy, networking, and communications, the Chamber supports its 700 member companies and advances the state as a national and global competitive leader in economic growth and private sector job creation.
In her practice, Torphy-Donzella defends employers in cases involving employment discrimination, harassment, contracts, and torts, and provides human resources counseling. Since joining Shawe Rosenthal in 1995, she has litigated hundreds of labor and employment law cases for clients in state and federal courts throughout the country.
Selected as a Fellow by the Litigation Counsel of America, Torphy-Donzella has been honored as a top labor and employment law practitioner by Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, and Super Lawyers. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center, and a member of the American Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, and District of Columbia Bar.
