Agents and staff from Coldwell Banker’s Enchanted Forest Office in Ellicott City hosted a different kind of baby shower this month, collecting clothing and other supplies for a pair of local charities that cater to foster children and families.
The group collected clothing, car seats, strollers, toys, booster seats, diapers, wipes and bottles for Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center and the Emergency Foster Closet of Frederick County. Additional items were donated to Shelter Cove Homeless Services and Prince Georges County Department of Social Services Foster Care Closet.
Branch Service Coordinator Stephanie Rogers, who spearheaded the collection, noted that foster parents often have very little time to prepare for a child who arrives in their home from an emergency situation.
“Organizations like Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center and the Emergency Foster Closet work every day to support those most in need of help,” Rogers said. “We’re so happy that we were able to help groups doing such important work.”
