Homies, a technology startup focused on the roommate referral space, has partnered with technology innovation agency Mindgrub. Together, they have created the Homies mobile application, for both Android and iOS.

The application, powered by Mindgrub, allows its users to create their personal profiles and complete a matching quiz to identify what they’re looking for in a roommate. The questions cover everything from social habits (“How often do you have guests over?”) to cleanliness (“How clean do you keep your home?”). The application will notify users if there are potential roommates available with particularly high compatibility scores.

Another key aspect of the Homies application is the Contract Builder. This feature allows users to create, sign, and store roommate agreements right in the application.

The app is launching in Baltimore this week, with plans to focus on Baltimore for the next 12 months with plans to expand later on. Mindgrub CEO, Todd Marks, says “Why risk being an odd couple if you could be friends… Homies is changing the game with its simple-to-use roommate finder app.” 

The Baltimore launch makes the partnership especially valuable. As Mindgrub Vice President Vincent Sharps states, “for many reasons, Homies wanted to have their initial launch in Baltimore. Because we know the area so well, we were able to use our first-hand knowledge of the city to make the app especially valuable to anyone searching for a room or roommate.” 

Homies Co-Founder Win Warfield agrees. “Baltimore is a higher education hub, which means a lot of students are looking for off-campus housing,” he explains. “Rent prices continue to rise, so many students are looking for a roommate. With the help of Mindgrub’s technological expertise and their intimate knowledge of the city, we can make that search a whole lot easier.”
