With home victories against Drexel and Navy, the youthful Terps have jumped to their sixth 2-0 start in the last nine seasons. Maryland, which finished 3-15-1 during the 2016 campaign, will try to keep its streak going during its first road trip of the season. The Terps will visit Gardner-Webb (N.C.) Aug. 25 and conclude the two-game swing Aug. 27 at Furman (S.C.).

Maryland, which features 15 freshmen on its 33-player roster, can equal or surpass its 2016 win total during its upcoming southern swing. The Terps could also move closer to the pace set by the 2011 squad, which started with a 6-0-2 record on its way to the NCAA Tournament, and the 2013 squad that began at 4-0 and also reached the postseason.
