As Cybrarians may or may not have noticed, Cybrary has entered an accelerated, high-growth phase. In addition to changes across the site, including the new offerings of various vendor products in the catalog, Cybrary has also begun to expand the team.

The newest addition is INFOSEC Curmudgeon,Jeff Man, respected Information Security expert, advisor, evangelist, and co-host on Paul’s Security Weekly. With over 34 years of experience working in all aspects of computer, network, and information security, Jeff’s background includes risk management, vulnerability analysis, compliance assessment, forensic analysis and penetration testing.

Previously, he has held security research, management and product development roles with the National Security Agency, the DoD and private sector enterprises and was part of the first penetration testing ‘red team’ at the NSA.

For the past twenty years, Jeff has been a pen tester, security architect, consultant, QSA, and PCI SME, providing consulting and advisory services to many of the nation’s best-known companies.

As an active member of the community, Jeff travels to various industry events and conferences to share his wisdom and instill security best practices in the minds of professionals.

“Jeff is one of the leading security and risk management experts I know and trust. Last year he was able to present at a Security Event I was hosting. The feedback from over 70 companies in attendance was highly positive,” says Lou Saviano, Global Information Technology & Cyber Security Executive. “He did an excellent job of highlighting the changes over the years and the past and future business priorities. We have since had some excellent discussions, I enjoy his unique and entertaining presentations, and I now consider him a friend. He has always displayed to me the utmost ‘Integrity’ and ability to simplify complex challenges in the ever changing risk and security field.”

Although Jeff was initially working with Cybrary as an Evangelist and Advisor, contributing his thought leadership at events on the company’s behalf and teaching a popular course, ‘The Art of the Jedi Mind Trick,’ his expertize was needed on a full-time basis.

With a strong belief in the Cybrary mission, Jeff says, “I am firmly convinced that the only way we’ll ever start to get ahead on cybersecurity is through education and awareness. Cybrary’s mission to provide cybersecurity training in an open-source way to anyone that wants it is revolutionizing the cyber security educational experience.”

In his new role, formally ‘Cyber Security Evangelist,’ Jeff will still be conducting his previous duties, but with a larger scope. Jeff plans to actively engage cyber security executives on Cybrary initiatives.

He will also play an integral role in managing the Cybrary evangelist program, overseeing the course creation experience, and ensuring that Cybrary is producing the best learning experience possible for its users. As someone on the pulse of the cyber community, Jeff will act as Cybrary’s eyes and ears, seeking out the best content, cutting-edge technology, and industry trends.

“We have been lucky to gain Jeff as a member of the Cybrary team. As such a crucial influencer in the cyber security community, he has proven himself as an extremely valuable asset in taking our platform to the next level by providing incredible insight and advice,” says Cybrary President and Co-Founder Ryan Corey.
