Cristo Rey Jesuit Appoints John C. Busse Director of Corporate Internship Program

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory high school empowering students to succeed in college, work and life, has appointed John C. Busse as director of the school's Corporate Internship Program. He began his new position today.

The Corporate Internship Program is unique among Baltimore-area high schools. Cristo Rey Jesuit students take a full course load of rigorous college preparatory classes and work five days per month at one of more than 120 corporate partners throughout theBaltimore area, at places like T. Rowe Price, Legg Mason, M&T Bank, PNC, Mercy Medical Center, Whiting-Turner, University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, Kelly & Associates Insurance Group and many more. They learn about the world of work, build confidence outside the classroom and learn to envision their own professional futures.

In his new role at Cristo Rey Jesuit, Busse will manage all areas of the Corporate Internship Program, from engaging existing corporate internship partners to adding new corporate internship sites to overseeing student site placement, professional development and transportation.

Prior to joining Cristo Rey Jesuit, Busse was a manager at Campbell and Company, where he oversaw the Asian shift, managing all risk processes, staff development and project initiatives. He has also served as vice president/head fixed income trader at Mercantile Investment & Wealth Management.

Busse, a graduate of Loyola Blakefield and a Lutherville resident, holds a Master of Business Administration from the Mendoza School of Business at the University of Notre Dame. His bachelor's degree is in city and regional planning from Cornell University.

Active in the community, Busse has served as head lacrosse coach for Ridgely Middle School, FCA Lacrosse Club, Greene Turtle Lacrosse Club and Looney's Lacrosse Club. He has been assistant lacrosse coach at Loyola Blakefield and at the University of Notre Dame. He has also been a lacrosse coach and a soccer coach for Lutherville Timonium Recreation Council and a basketball coach for Towsontowne Rec.

"John and his Corporate Internship Program team will provide our students with valuable work experiences from many different industries which will complement the rigorous college preparatory education they receive in the classroom at Cristo Rey."

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is a member of the Cristo Rey Network of 32 high schools across the country. Sponsored by the Maryland Province Jesuits, the school opened in 2007 and serves 360 college-bound students in grades 9-12.
