Jeremy Zuttah was back on the Ravens' practice field Aug. 19, one day after the team signed the center it had traded this past offseason as part of an effort to revamp the offensive line.
Zuttah’s return comes as the Ravens deal with injuries, a surprise retirement and continued uncertainty along the offensive line just three weeks before the regular season begins. Head coach John Harbaugh said after practice that Zuttah will compete for the starting center job that has been held throughout training camp by Ryan Jensen.
“We’ll do whatever is best for the Ravens,” Harbaugh said. “The best players play, and the best players are the guys who play the best. That’s how we do it. Always have, always will. We’ll see how it plays out. I love competition.”
