Orioles Do Little Offensively, Fall To Mariners, 3-1

The Orioles had six hits in the first three innings but managed to score just one run.

Their inability to capitalize on additional scoring opportunities proved to be their undoing as they failed once again to get to the .500 mark. Five Seattle pitchers retired the final 20 Orioles in a row, as the Mariners beat the Orioles, 3-1, before 24,927 at Safeco Field Aug. 15.

After beginning the 10-game West Coast trip with a win that brought them to .500 for the first time since June 29, the Orioles have missed on four subsequent occasions to return there.
