Cybrary to Sponsor Incident Response Consortium’s  “IR17” Conference

Cybrary, the world’s first and only open-source cyber security and IT online learning and certification preparation platform, today announced that Co-Founder, Ryan Corey, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Incident Response Consortium.

The Incident Response Consortium is an educational, non-profit organization focused on increasing awareness, cooperation, and knowledge of incident response best practices among the cybersecurity community. The Incident Response Consortium operates IncidentResponse.com, an online community created in an effort to inform, share, and curate resources about incident response into one central website. Incident response is a planned approach to mitigating and managing the aftermath of a security breach or cyber attack (incident). The Incident Response Consortium helps companies and their incident response teams learn from each other and stay updated with the latest industry trends, solutions, and attacks through its online resources and collaborative educational conferences, notably their free-to-attend Incident Response “IR-series” Conferences, next of which is “IR 17” scheduled for September 11-12 at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City, Virginia.

“Ryan’s experience in growing Cybrary’s user base combined with his overall knowledge of the cyber security industry make him a valuable addition to the Incident Response Consortium Board of Directors,” said Joseph Loomis, Founder of the Incident Response Consortium. “He will be instrumental in helping to expand and optimize our community as the leading online source for incident response learning and information sharing.”

In addition to Corey joining the Board at Incident Response Consortium, Cybrary will sponsor the organization’s Incident Response “IR 17” Conference, the first operational community-driven incident response conference. IR 17 is organized by the Incident Response Consortium, to promote education, collaboration and information sharing among the incident response community, and dedicated to improving incident response processes within the cyber security community. IR 17 will feature multiple keynote speakers such as Virginia Governor, Terry McAuliffe.

Since launching in 2015, Cybrary has trained nearly 1.5 million people on critical cyber security and IT skills – more than any other learning platform in the world. Through its open-source model, Cybrary is actively working to fill the gap between open cyber security and IT positions and experienced practitioners.
