For the second time in a week, Manny Machado hit a grand slam on the West Coast, and the Orioles were on their way to a big win.
Machado's drive was part of an 11-3 win against the Seattle Mariners before 17,973 at Safeco Field Aug. 14.
Eight games into their 10-game trip, the Orioles are 4-4 and are back where they were when they left Baltimore Aug. 6 -- a game below .500. At 59-60, Baltimore is two games out of the second wild-card spot.
"We've got a chance to have a good road trip," manager Buck Showalter said. "They're competing for the same thing we are, and we caught them on a down night."
