After arguably their most painful loss of this challenging season, the Orioles quickly forgot about it. A seven-run first inning, their first in more than nine years, will do that for a team.
In the inning, the Orioles sent 11 batters to the plate, had eight hits, and plated seven of them on their way to a 12-5 win over the Oakland Athletics before 29,742 at Oakland Coliseum.
Tim Beckham continued his hot hitting with four more hits. The shortstop has hit in all 12 games he’s played for the Orioles, and has nine multi-hit games. He’s batting .531 since joining the Orioles Aug. 1.
