Tim Beckham has had a fabulous first week with the Baltimore Orioles, and the new shortstop continued his joyride by hitting the 10,000th home run in franchise history.
By the time Beckham hit his home run in the eighth inning, the Orioles already had a lead. In his first four games with the Orioles after the July 31 trade from Tampa Bay, he set a team record with 11 hits, and he’s now had five straight multi-hit games.
The Orioles also had clutch home runs from outfielder Adam Jones and catcher Welington Castillo in their 5-2 win against the Detroit Tigers before 33,911 at Oriole Park Aug. 5.
