Towson Basketball Team's Trip To Canada Will Mix Competition And Culture

The Towson University men's basketball team is getting away from the heat of the Central Maryland summer and returning to the heat of competition.

The Tigers will head to Canada Aug. 5-11 for a series of international contests with collegiate teams in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario. Towson, which also took a preseason trip to Canada in 2013, will play five games in five days.

"We do this once every four years," Towson head coach Pat Skerry said. "For us, it's a combo business/enjoyment trip. We'll get good competition, and get to travel to some good cities."
