WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GEICO has named Hank Nayden vice president, general counsel and legislative counsel at the company’s corporate headquarters in Chevy Chase, Md. Nayden will assume responsibility for GEICO’s general counsel’s office and will continue to oversee the company’s office of legislative counsel, a role he has served in since 2000.

Nayden joined GEICO in 1992, as an attorney in the legislative counsel’s office. In 1997, he was selected for the company’s Executive Assistant Program, serving in a number of rotational positions and assignments.

A year later, Nayden helped launch GEICO’s National Print Mail Center in Fredericksburg, Va. In 2000, he transitioned to the role of regional claims liability director in Fredericksburg prior to being elected as vice president of GEICO’s legislative counsel later in the year.

Nayden holds a degree in economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and received his J.D. degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law. He earned his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation in 1995.
