Baltimore's Classic Five Golf Tournament Series Continues With Baltimore Stableford Championship

Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation (BMGC), also known as Baltimore’s Classic Five, will continue its 2017 Classic Five Golf Tournament Series on July 15 with the 2017 Baltimore Stableford Championship.

The annual Tournament Series, which runs from May through August, features four individual events. Upcoming Classic Five Tournament Series events include:

  • Baltimore Stableford Championship - July 15 at Clifton Park Golf Course
  • Tim Sanders Championship – July 29 at Forest Park Golf Course
  • Baltimore Amateur Championship
    • Round 1 on August 5 at Mount Pleasant Golf Course
    • Round 2 on August 6 at Pine Ridge Golf Course

The Baltimore Stableford Championship will be conducted on July 15. The format will be 18 hole using a modified Stableford Scoring System – Double Bogey = 0 points, Bogey = 1 point, Par = 2 points, Birdie (1 under par) = 3 points, Eagle (2 under par) = 5 points, and Albatross (3 under par) = 7 points.

The field will be limited to 132 eligible amateur golfers. Entries for the 2017 Baltimore Stableford Championship must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 7 or when filled.  The entry fee for the 2017 Baltimore Stableford Championship is $65 per person, which includes greens fees and carts for the entire event.

At the Tournament Series individual events, which began with the Match Play Championship on June 17, golfers are eligible to earn points that count toward determining the 2017 Classic Five Tournament Series Player of the Year. This year a Tournament Series Player of the Year will also be awarded in a Senior Division. To compete in the Senior Division, players must be at least 55 years old.
