Two months ago, tight end appeared to be one of the deepest position groups on the Ravens, with six players returning, all with at least one season of NFL experience. Even amid that depth, though, there were underlying concerns, as all six had faced either significant injury issues or NFL-mandated suspensions.
Those issues resurfaced again during the past five weeks, and tight end is suddenly a significant question mark with training camp opening in three weeks.
Since the beginning of June, Dennis Pitta suffered his third major hip injury during an OTA workout and his career is presumed to be over, and Darren Waller has been suspended for at least a year for a second violation of the league's substance abuse policy.
