Mark R. Fetting
Former Legg Mason Chairman and CEO Mark R. Fetting has been named chairman of the board at Baltimore’s Gilman school.
Founded in 1897, Gilman is a kindergarten through 12th grade private independent day school for boys.
Fetting is currently a member of the board of trustees of the Baltimore Community Foundation. He has also served on the boards of Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School and Mercy Hospital.
With his wife, Georgia Smith, Wetting runs Camp Brightside, an outdoor program for urban at-risk children.
Fetting, a fourth-generation Irish American with roots in Cork and Roscommon, earned a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of Business and an MBA from Harvard University. He served as the CEO of Legg Mason from 2008 until 2012.
