Dylan Bundy's Short Start Puts Orioles In Big Hole In 10-3 Loss

For most of the first half of the season, Dylan Bundy had been the only constant in the Orioles’ starting rotation. The right-hander could be counted on for a solid, unspectacular performance.

Manager Buck Showalter has been careful to monitor Bundy’s innings, which are approaching his total from the 2016 season.

Bundy pitched only four innings July 1, his shortest start of 2017, as the Orioles lost, 10-3, to the Tampa Bay Rays before 28,346 at Oriole Park.

In 2016, Showalter had Bundy work exclusively in the bullpen before allowing him to start during the second half of the season. For the year, Bundy threw 109.2 innings.
