Zach Britton has been ready to return to the Orioles for several days.
On July 5, the left-handed closer is scheduled to be activated after two months on the disabled with a strained left forearm.
Britton finished his rehab schedule with a scoreless inning for Class-A Frederick July 3, allowing a double, walking one and striking out one. He threw 19 pitches, 10 strikes.
In his seven games -- one with short-season Class A Aberdeen and two each with Low-A Delmarva, Frederick and Double-A Bowie -- Britton allowed one run on four hits, walking three and striking out eight.
