Kevin Conklin Joins Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation Board

The Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation, Inc., an advisory board of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH), announced today that two new board members have been selected to serve on the organization’s board of directors. Kevin Conklin, patient parent and Vice President of Operations at PANDORA Americas and Dr. Ed Perl were confirmed at the hospital’s Board of Trustees’ annual meeting on June 29. The new board members will help further the hospital’s mission to provide the highest quality patient care programs for infants, children and adolescents. The Foundation raises, receives, invests and administers funds in support of this mission.

Kevin Conklin has more than 15 years of experience in operations management. He is currently serving as Vice President, Operations for PANDORA Americas and joined the company in 2011. Prior to joining PANDORA Americas, Conklin served as Director of Distribution and Logistics for The Clorox Company’s Burt’s Bees Division. He has also worked for Office Depot as a Sr. Director Supply Chain Operations, Training and Engineering. Conklin is a patient parent and recently sponsored the hospital’s 4th annual Storybook Gala.

Ed Perl, MD, FAAP has been a practicing pediatrician since 1977. He earned his medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine and is a member of the American Board of Pediatrics. He is acting president and pediatrician at the Carroll Pediatric Center in Sykesville and serves as president of the Eldersburg Medical Center Limited Partnership. Perl is also very active in his community and has served on various committees, including the Maimonides Society of The Associated Jewish Charities.

Matthew Cohen, who will officially begin his term as chair of the Foundation Board July 1noted, “I am excited for the opportunity to chair the board of such a mission-driven organization. Kevin and Ed will be terrific additions and we look forward to their involvement and expertise. ”

Cohen will succeed Ann Eliasberg Betten as she completes her second term as chair. Betten is the granddaughter of the hospital’s founder.

Conklin and Perl will begin their terms on July 1, 2017.
