Benfield Electric, a Maryland-based, family-owned and operated electrical contractor, is pleased to announce the hire of Mike Anderson, CHST, as its new safety director.
Anderson brings more than 20 years of experience in construction site safety, project planning, scheduling and safety compliance to Benfield Electric. In his new role, he will oversee training and implementation of contractor OSHA programs such as Fall Protection, Confined Spaces and Lock Out/Tag Out. Anderson will also support Benfield Electric’s project management team by evaluating job sites for potential risks and identifying injury prevention opportunities.
“As the new safety director for Benfield Electric, I am looking forward to working with all our employees to provide a safe and healthy working environment that ensures every employee goes home to their families at the end of the day the same way they came in,” says Anderson.
Prior to joining Benfield Electric, Anderson served as director of safety for Nickle Electrical Companies, Midasco, LLC, a construction consultant to Zurich American Insurance Company. He has also held safety positions with Brycon Construction, M Davis & Sons and American Ref-Fuel.
Anderson is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), a Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) and an OSHA Outreach and CPR/First Aid Instructor. A native of Cecil County, Maryland, he is also a veteran of the United States Nav). He currently resides in North East.
