Baltimore-Based Architecture Firm Debuts New Corporate Branding During 50th Anniversary Celebration

Marks Thomas, an award-winning, WBE certified, Baltimore-based architecture firm, honors its 50th anniversary with a look back at its past achievements, the debut of a newly rebranded corporate logo, and a look ahead to the future. Formerly “Marks, Thomas Architects,” the architecture firm will now be named “Marks Thomas.”

Marks Thomas, boasting a 50-year tradition of design excellence, was founded in 1967, and today is a top architecture firm with offices in Baltimore, MD and Richmond, VA. Marks Thomas serves as a leader in the creation of senior communities, student housing, adaptive use, waterfront housing, urban mixed-use communities, and institutional projects. They create environments that inspire social change by enhancing businesses, the user experience, and entire communities.

Since their founding half a century ago Marks Tomas has established a background with a solid reputation for planning and crafting well designed environments for a diverse clientele while providing exceptional client service. Today, they are recognized as leaders in their profession and continue to set new standards for innovation, quality and attention to detail.

“At this 50-year mark we are proud to look back at the remarkable accomplishments we have achieved, and the impact we have made in Baltimore and communities throughout the Mid-Atlantic,” said Faith Nevins Hawks, AIA, LEED AP, Principal at Marks Thomas. “With our talented team of visionaries, who have created significant, lasting effects, we are more excited than ever for what the future holds. As we continue to bring transformational projects to fruition, we cannot wait to see what the next 50 years will bring for Marks Thomas!”

In the coming years, Marks Thomas will continue to turn client’s visions into reality by working collaboratively with their team of architects, planners, interior designers and support staff. Collective expertise, coupled with effective project management, has enabled Marks Thomas to lead in the creation of urban communities, all types of multi-family housing, mixed-use facilities and institutional projects.

At an anniversary celebration held on May 18th, a crowd of over 200 gathered to join Marks Thomas as they showcased some of their most celebrated work from the past five decades and unveiled their newly rebranded corporate logo.

“As we celebrate 50 years, we never forget those for whom we’re designing. Those who inspired us to pursue this passion in the first place,” said Magda Westerhout, AIA, Principal at Marks Thomas. “As we embark on the next 50 years, we continue to leap boldly into projects that make a difference. Our newly updated name and logo represents how our firm is continuing to evolve, transforming into a full design firm offering interior design, planning and architecture services.”
