Jeremy Maclin said he has always respected the Ravens' organization from afar throughout his NFL career, and that he had heard nothing but good things about head coach John Harbaugh.
Maclin said he regarded Joe Flacco as "a cool dude" who players like to play alongside of, and that he got a positive first impression upon meeting many current Ravens. And oh yeah, Maclin's wife was born in Baltimore.
Add it all up, and that's why Maclin, a Pro Bowl wide receiver with two 1,000-yard seasons, signed a two-year deal with the Ravens June 12, ending a brief free-agency tour after he was released by the Kansas City Chiefs in a cost-cutting move.
