Cornerstone Advisory now has more than $1.1 billion in assets under management after completing its merge with Private Fund Advisors.
Erik Johnson, owner of Private Fund Advisors, joins Thomas Biddison III and Donald Huber, Jr. as a principal of Cornerstone Advisory. “We see the merge as a way to add value for our clients. They will benefit from access to more investment opportunities, enriched family office services, and thoughtful succession planning,” said Mr. Johnson.
Cornerstone Advisory and Private Fund Advisors have maintained a strategic partnership since 2006. In fact, the three principals launched a hedge fund two years ago which is available to the firms’ wealth management clients and is also available for private placement. The Outcome Driven Fund is currently valued at more than $30 million.
“After working together for a decade, we appreciate our firms’ common values and complementary strengths” said Mr. Huber. “EJ, Tom and I realized that in order to grow, realize economies of scale, and improve the client experience, a merger would make the most sense.”
The combined firm is well-positioned to navigate the evolving landscape of the wealth management industry. “Stocks are at all-time highs and interest rates are near all-time lows. Through our strategic partnership and increased intellectual capital, we will help our clients meet their financial goals through sophisticated financial planning, a consistent approach, and alternative investments,” said Mr. Biddison.
For its clients’ convenience, Cornerstone Advisory opened an office in Hunt Valley, Maryland in February. The firm also maintains an office in Arnold, Maryland.
