The Mall In Columbia Announces Six New-To-Market Retailers And Restaurants

The Mall in Columbia announced today that six new retailers and restaurants would be opening at the center, representing approximately 100,000 square feet of newly leased space.The new merchants include: Main Event Entertainment; Barnes & Noble; Z Gallerie; Uncle Julio’s; Walrus Oyster & Ale House; and Shake Shack.The new tenants will be opening throughout 2017 and 2018.

Main Event Entertainment is the nation’s fastest growing bowling-anchored restaurant and entertainment brand, featuring chef-inspired dining, more than 100 virtual and interactive games, laser tag and state-of-the-art bowling.The Mall in Columbia location will mark the first Main Event in Maryland.The 51,383 square foot entertainment center is the ideal place for groups of all ages to get together, share laughs and let their fun out.

Barnes & Noble, Inc. is a Fortune 500 company and the nation's largest retail bookseller, providing customers with easy and convenient access to books, magazines, newspapers and other content across its multi-channel distribution platform. Barnes & Noble will be opening a new 17,268 square foot concept store, which will serve as a best-in-class bookstore and a gathering place for the community, complete with a modern look and feel and an expanded Café offering.

Uncle Julio’s Rio Grande Cafe' modeled after upscale authentic Mexican design, features: exhibition kitchen; expansive indoor and outdoor bar area; private dining room and a side walk cafe area. The interior design includes a mixture of stone, wood and authentic Mexican décor.The 8,695 square-foot restaurant is known for from-scratch Mexican and Tex-Mex favorites using the highest quality ingredients.

Main Event Entertainment, Barnes & Noble and Uncle Julio’s Rio Grande Café are expected to open in the former second level of Sears late summer/early fall of 2018.Sears consolidated its operations onto one level earlier this year.

The Walrus Oyster & Ale House offers the area's largest selection of freshly shucked oysters, local craft beers, and delicious Chesapeake Bay inspired seafood. Complimenting the scratch kitchen serving classic dishes with fresh seasonal ingredients is an over the top cocktail program, known for its frozen drinks and punch bowls. The Mall in Columbia will be joining their first restaurant location in The National Harbor. The 6,819 square-foot restaurant will open late fall of 2017 in the former Uno Pizzeria & Grill location.

Shake Shack will be opening their third Maryland Shack in a portion of the former Champps Americana at The Mall in Columbia, adding to their existing locations at The National Harbor and downtown Baltimore. The approximately 3,200 square-foot restaurant is a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers and flat-top Vienna beef dogs (no added hormones and no antibiotics ever), 100% all-natural cage-free chicken (no antibiotics ever), spun-fresh frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, craft beer and wine (available at select locations) and more. Shake Shack’s fine dining heritage and commitment to thoughtful ingredient sourcing, preparation, hospitality and quality, coupled with its fun and lively environment has earned the brand a cult-like following around the world. It is expected to open fall 2017.
