Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter thinks his third baseman, Manny Machado may be able to avoid the disabled list.
Machado, who is not in the starting lineup for the third straight game after Pittsburgh's Andrew McCutchen spiked him June 8, suffered a sprained left wrist.
"Improved again. It looks like he's got a chance to miss the DL," Showalter said. "It's just a matter of when. We'll see if he's available tonight. Who knows? It's encouraging, the improvement."
Showalter said the Orioles are trying to not rush Machado.
