Capital Digestive Care has announced the opening of a new location to serve residents of Prince George’s County.  It is located on 12150 Annapolis Road in Glenn Dale, Maryland and is staffed by Dr. Ann Marie Stephenson. 

Capital Digestive Care’s leadership made the conscious decision to open a new location in response to Prince George’s County’s growing population, which has been underserved by medical specialists.  The Glenn Dale office brings the number of Capital Digestive Care’s locations to 16 in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, in addition to the practice’s 13 hospital affiliations and 8 ambulatory surgical centers.

Dr. Stephenson, who also sees patients in Capital Digestive Care’s Rockville location on Key West Avenue, is known for her strong commitment to patient education and community.  She was recently appointed to Maryland’s State Board of Physicians, where she has a voice in helping to assure quality health care through state licensing, credentialing and patient protections. 

Dr. Stephenson is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.  She attended St. Joseph’s University and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.   Her special areas of interest cover a wide range of illnesses including colorectal cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and hepatitis.   She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association, as well as the American College of Osteopathic Internists.
