Carl Jean-Baptiste
Gallagher Evelius & Jones is pleased to announce that Carl Jean-Baptiste has joined the firm as a partner in the health law group. With nearly twenty years’ experience as in-house counsel for two of the region’s largest health care systems, Carl has been extensively involved in issues related to physician affiliations, regulatory compliance, medical staff matters and complex business transactions. As general counsel for a large health system with over $400 million in revenue and more than 2,400 employees, Carl oversaw the system’s legal services, contracting, compliance, risk management, government affairs and privacy functions.
During law school, Carl interned for U.S. District Court Judge Andre M. Davis and in the General Counsel’s Office of the University of Maryland Medical System. He holds a J. D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, an M.B.A. from Loyola University in Maryland, and a B.A. from Lehigh University.
