In spring training, significant attention was spent on the signings of Pedro Alvarez and Michael Bourn to minor league contracts with the Orioles.
Both Alvarez and, to a lesser extent, Bourn were contributors to the Orioles' success in 2016, but neither was able to land a major league contract for this season, and they signed non-guaranteed deals with opt-outs.
So where do things stand with them?
Alvarez, who is at Triple-A Norfolk, had an opt-out date of June 1. He was not in the Tides' original lineup that day, but was a late addition.
