For weeks, the Baltimore Orioles have thought right-hander Alec Asher could be an effective starter for the team. They've been impressed with his relief appearances of varying lengths, and how quickly he rebounds.
When the Orioles decided fellow right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez needed to be removed from the starting rotation, they thought Asher could do better.
While Asher had two starts April 15 and May 2, but didn't win either one, they put him back in the bullpen in between the two outings.
