Alec Asher had a tough start May 28, allowing six runs in two innings against the Houston Astros, and Orioles manager Buck Showalter hasn’t decided if the right-hander will get to start June 2.
Asher threw 54 pitches in two innings, and in the second inning he gave up six runs on six hits. He was removed in favor of Ubaldo Jimenez in the third inning.
Jimenez, who was just removed from the starting rotation, performed creditably in relief. The right-hander gave up two runs on five hits in six innings, striking out five and walking none.
Showalter said he’d probably make a decision May 30 on whether Asher or Jimenez will get the start against the Boston Red Sox June 2.
