A new recreation and parks chief is coming to town, by way of Macon, Ga.

Mayor Catherine Pugh announced yesterday that she’s hired Reginald Moore, the director of Macon-Bibb County’s parks and recreation department, to lead the city’s public parks division.

“I’m excited to welcome Director Moore to the City of Baltimore and am looking forward to the ways that he will help us continue to invigorate our parks and recreation system with innovative best practices and programming,” Pugh said in a statement.

Moore has worked for the City of Macon and Bibb County’s parks and recreation department since 2002. He previously worked in sports administration for the Atlanta Falcons and the World Basketball League, a minor-league association that folded in 1992. He also teaches at Mercer College in Macon, Ga., according to the mayor’s office.
