The Newberry Group, an employee-owned IT consulting and cyber security firm based in St. Peters, Missouri with its operational headquarters in Howard County, Maryland is pleased to announce the acquisition of Line of Sight, LLC, an Ellicott City, Maryland firm with expertise in project management, organizational change, and business process improvement services. This strategic move supports the Newberry Group’s ongoing expansion and adds a new capability to offer their commercial and government clients. The combined firm has over 100 employees serving clients from Maryland to Hawaii.
Chris Steinbach, Newberry’s CEO described the acquisition as, “a truly unique opportunity to further differentiate ourselves from pure IT and cyber security firms with whom we compete.” He also explained that “the expertise embedded in our new Line of Sight Division will immediately and dramatically increase the value our portfolio of services brings to clients.”
Line of Sight’s Founder, Jon Weinstein is excited to join the Newberry Group as the Executive Director for the new division. “When I started Line of Sight twelve years ago, two of my goals included becoming an employee-owned company and achieving a 50-50 split serving government and commercial clients. Joining the Newberry Group accomplished both goals overnight.” He continued, “Line of Sight’s reputation in the areas of project management, change management, and business process improvement combined with the Newberry Group’s expertise in advanced IT and cyber security create a powerful new enterprise with an extended reach.”
Both Steinbach and Weinstein have known each other for several years since their sons were co-Captains for the Mount Hebron High School Cross County team. They commented on how a lunch to catch up quickly turned into a serious dialogue of the benefits of merging the two firms. CEO Steinbach remarked, “We had just completed the acquisition of Next Level Technology in Hunt Valley, and I realized another great opportunity was staring me in the face. In less than two months, we worked out the details and made the deal happen!”
The Newberry Group will consolidate its operations offices in Line of Sight’s current location in Ellicott City. The office will serve as the base for the CEO, Public Sector Group, Line of Sight Division, and other key staff.
