Benchworks President Melissa Johnston Named Treasurer for HBA Mid-Atlantic Chapter

The HBA strives to further the advancement and impact of women in the business of healthcare.

Benchworks announced that its president, Melissa Johnston, was recently selected as treasurer for the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA). Nominated by chapter president Donna Grande, the term runs through 2018.

The HBA Mid-Atlantic chapter board meets in person once each quarter and holds monthly conference calls. In addition, the organization hosts a variety of meetings throughout the year in various locations. As treasurer, Melissa will be responsible for financial statements and reporting as well as high-level review and analysis for the HBA Board of Directors.

Melissa said that she is very pleased to serve the HBA, noting that the association provides many useful and informative programs that benefit women in the healthcare industry. In addition, she said, “There are 10 members of HBA from Benchworks and I believe that it is important to support an organization that provides value to our team.”

Brenda Vujanic, Benchworks executive vice president, is also a member of HBA. Regarding Melissa’s appointment as treasurer for the Mid-Atlantic chapter, Brenda said, “Having Melissa represent Benchworks on the HBA Board of Directors is wonderful. We feel strongly that HBA provides an incredible opportunity to advance our careers and we are pleased that our company can reciprocate in this fashion.”
