It's rare for a Ravens rookie to crack the Week 1 starting lineup, especially on defense. Granted, last season the Ravens started a pair of rookies on the offensive line in the season opener, with Ronnie Stanley at left tackle and Alex Lewis at left guard.
Far more common -- and preferable, to head coach John Harbaugh -- is for rookies to learn the system and the schemes, adjust to NFL speed and then develop into starters.
On defense, only one Ravens player in the Harbaugh era has started the season opener as a rookie: linebacker C.J. Mosley. Will that change this year? The Ravens drafted four defensive players in the first three rounds of the draft, and, conceivably, all four could be impact players immediately.
