The Orioles' six-man bullpen experiment is over, at least for the time being.
A day after all six of their relievers were used in a 13-inning game, and May 17 starter Ubaldo Jimenez ended the contest by sitting in the bullpen in case he was needed, the Orioles subtracted a position player -- catcher Francisco Pena -- and added right-handed reliever Stefan Crichton from Triple-A Norfolk.
The Orioles have 10 days to trade, release or outright Pena to the minors, and it's difficult to imagine they'll be able to hold on to him.
Pena, who backed up Caleb Joseph while Welington Castillo was on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis, hit two home runs May 13. He was 4-for-7 (.571) in three games.
