The field for the 142nd Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course May 20 stands at 10 entries, exactly half the number that started in the Kentucky Derby.
Highlighted by Derby winner Always Dreaming, the Preakness hopefuls include four other colts who were at Churchill Downs May 3, including second-place finisher Lookin at Lee and the fourth-place Derby horse, Classic Empire.
Preakness entry Royal Mo suffered a career-ending injury -- a fractured sesamoid in his right-front leg -- while training at Pimlico May 14. Royal Mo underwent surgery at the world-famous New Bolton Center, the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine's facility in Kennett Square, Pa.
