Josh Loeffler has moved across the Northeastern United States during his basketball coaching career. But he won't have to leave his current residence for his next assignment.
After a four-season stint as an assistant at Loyola, Loeffler will move a few blocks south on Charles Street to become the new head coach of the Johns Hopkins men's program.
Loeffler, whose hiring was announced May 5, will become the first new head men's basketball coach at Johns Hopkins since the mid-1980s. The native of West Grove, Pa., will succeed longtime head coach Bill Nelson, who announced his retirement in March after 31 seasons at the helm.
