There was a video tribute in the middle of the first inning, and when he came to bat in the top of the third, there was sustained ovation for Washington Nationals catcher Matt Wieters.
The longtime Orioles catcher, playing his first game in his old park, was the center of attention in what's called The Battle of the Beltways.
Wieters was 1-for-4 as his old team beat his new one, 6-4, May 8, in the first of four games between the Orioles and Nationals.
The 23,525 at Oriole Park saluted Wieters, and he was thankful for it.
